We are blessed to have René. She brings passion for service and decades of chauffeur experience to the LEADER team. Meet René York.
Tell us about you, in a few words…
I’m a little bit of everything. I have a wicked sense of humor, I love old musicals, I am a HUGE Elvis fan (he was my first love) and I teach a women’s Sunday School class. I guess you could say I have a lot of love for life.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married for 36 years and have three children. My dad was born in North Carolina and my mom in Manhattan, KS. I am the middle child of seven: six girls and one boy.
What is something you are passionate about?
My grandkids. I have four of them and spoil them rotten.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
I have no tolerance for tardiness. If you are habitually late you send a message that you do not care enough about that person to be on time.
What would your friends say about you?
Probably that I am a wackadoo! I am a dog lover. I am grounded from the pound because I want to adopt all of them. I have three dogs and they are all rescues.
Where did you grow up?
My family moved to Raytown, MO, after my father retired from the Air Force.
What’s your favorite thing about living in KC?
I love the friendliness of the Midwest. The devotion of the fans to their sports teams is amazing.
What’s missing in KC that would make it perfect?
I love the beach and ocean. We don’t have that here. But I love the diversity of the seasons in Kansas City. Fall is my favorite: the smells, the colors, the crisp temperatures.
I graduated in the upper 10% of my class of 630. Instead of a four-year degree, I opted to go to business college instead and took an accelerated program, graduating in just a few months.
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working for LEADER?
Spending time with my grandchildren is my favorite thing to do, and I enjoy going to Chiefs games.
Tell us about working for LEADER Limo.
I’ve been with LEADER for eight years. My official title is Affiliate Director, but I do a little bit of everything. Before coming to LEADER, I was the manager of Mr Nick’s Limousine for 10 years. This business gets into your blood. I love my job and the people that I have a small part of taking care of. Many of them came with me when Mr Nicks closed and I have been taking care of them for 18 years now.
What’s your favorite thing about LEADER Limo?
LEADER cares so much about their clients. All of the chauffeurs are extensively trained and we truly value any feedback that we get, both negative and positive. Of course, we never want to hear any negative feedback, but if we do, we immediately take steps to correct it.
I am so happy to talk to our clients, learn about their families and share a story with them.
