The Make-A-Wish Foundation lives in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. LEADER is proud to be part of granting wishes to over 5,000 children in Make-A-Wish Missouri’s 32-year history. Their mission to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions brings hope and joy to the LEADER team and the Kansas City Community.
Wishes are granted in four categories. Children from age two and a half to 18 with progressive, degenerative or malignant conditions can choose to Go, Be, Have, or Meet. Depending on their wish, LEADER is ready to meet the transportation needs of the child and their family.
The most popular wish that is granted is a trip to go to Disney World. In Kansas City, that means a chauffeured ride to the airport for the whole family. Our clients know the enrichment that comes from a worry free, door-to-door trip. We have the honor of providing that same great experience for wish kids and their families.
In Kansas City, one of the most memorable wishes granted was when a young man wanted to be a superhero for the day. LEADER jumped on the opportunity to help Muchacho de Hierro save Kansas Cityby being his personal chauffeur for the day. Once Muchacho and Slugger had captured the bad guy, they took batting practice at Kauffman Stadium with The Royals.
Some wish kids want to have a shopping spree. Kansas City has some of the best shopping destinations, and LEADER is particularly suited for the task of luxury shopping tours. From Zona Rosa to the Country Club Plaza to Prairiefire, we put wish families at ease with our fleet of limos and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters. Make-A-Wish coordinates with shop owners to make sure that the vehicle quickly fills up with gifts and goodies donated for the hope and joy of the child’s wish.
Kansas City is a destination for music, art and cultural icons from all over the world. When a wish kid wants to meet a celebrity, LEADER again gets the pleasure of complementing the experience with our fleet of luxury vehicles. Meeting your childhood hero would be a wish for anyone, but to be able to grant this wish for a terminally ill child and add an element of elegance fills our hearts and souls.
This year, Make-A-Wish Missouri plans to grant over 300 wishes for children in the state of Missouri and the six counties surrounding the KC Metro. We will be there. LEADER is faithful to the cause, the children and hope inspired by this great organization and many others.
