Everyone wants to be part of something great — anything from a championship-winning team to an award-winning organization. In Kansas City, we have the chance to see first hand the powerful changes that come from partnering with great teams and caring people. This is why we have been long time supporters of Big Brothers Big SIsters of Greater Kansas City and so many other great community organizations.
This fall, we want your help with a unique opportunity to make a difference. Our friends at BBBSKC have partnered with members of the Royals and the Chiefs to raise money and awareness around their life-changing mission. Eric Hosmer and Cairo Santos have each pledged their talent and treasure to the kids served by BBBSKC.
First-baseman Eric Hosmer needs us all to Step Up Big as he finishes the 2015 season. In the past, Eric has helped BBBSKC match Bigs & Littles for the organization — and this year he is doubling his efforts. He has pledged to match the first 100 donations to BBBSKC made through his website: StepUpBig.org. As of this post, Hos was only about a quarter of the way to his goal of $25,000. But with the approach of the post-season for the Royals, there is still time to make a pledge.
Cairo Santos of the Kansas City Chiefs raised $4,800 last year for BBBSKC through his Kicking It Big campaign. This year, he is looking to raise more. His 2015 campaign, Field Goals for Kids, will help bring awareness to the more than 500 children in Kansas City who are waiting to be matched with a mentor as well as help fund this great organization. You can help by pledging your support here.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City is a world-class organization. We are proud to support their work and even more proud of the work they are doing in the community. In three of the last four years, they have been recognized as the Agency of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. And another feather in KC’s cap is Chris Rosburg, one of Kansas City’s amazing Bigs, who was named National Big Brother of the Year.
Through the work of BBBSKC, Eric Hosmer and Cairo Santos, children from Kansas City can experience the life-changing impact of mentorship. Please take a moment and pledge your support today.
