LEADER is proud to be part of the vibrance and compassion that makes Kansas City great. Among the many KC community organizations that we support is National Orange Popsicle Week. This amazing organization is particularly special for us because it was founded by former members of the LEADER team.
The goal of NOPW is to raise funds and awareness in the Kansas City area. Specifically, NOPW is hosting several events in the metro during the entire month of May to raise awareness of stroke in young people. Our friends at NOPW want to help spread this important message and inform everyone that stroke is a threat to and is often misdiagnosed in young adults. Statistically, 10% of people ages 25-40 will suffer a stroke and 1 in 5 of the nearly 795,000 annual strokes occur in adults aged 20 – 55 years.
The events and fundraising from the 2014 National Orange Popsicle Week were able to support 2 young stroke survivors in the KC metro through the efforts of a partner organization called the Falling Forward Foundation. This year, NOPW is proud to partner with the Falling Forward Foundation again and hopes to raise even more funds and awareness than last year.
You can show your support for this great organization by getting involved with NOPW 2015. Like and share about them on Facebook. Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date on their events and the results of their efforts. Also, to pledge your financial support you can donate directly on their website.
LEADER Limo is pleased to support NOPW for the work they are doing in KC and all over the nation. We join a list of sponsoring organizations that includes the Royals, the Chiefs, the T-Bones and Boulevard Brewing. With the support of the local community, we can help raise awareness and support young stroke survivors.
